I was born and raised in Aurora, CO.  After graduating from high school, I started college but soon discovered I had no idea what I wanted to be when I grew up.  Fast forward past my wedding to the birth of my daughter, I was obsessed (as most mothers are) of capturing every little nose crinkle, gummy smile and silly face!  I had always found professional photography to be a luxury item (we had to eat!) so I counted on my old digital camera and cell phone camera to do the job.

As time progressed, I knew that wouldn't be enough so I invested in a camera to document the lives of my beautiful children.  This ended up being an amazing blessing because, after my son was born, I suffered with severe Postpartum Depression.  As a result of drinking to cope, I have foggy memories of the first two years of my son's life.  Now that I am sober, I absolutely cherish the photographs of him and his big sister during that difficult time.  Side note:  If you are suffering with PPD or substance abuse, please reach out whether to me, a family member or here or here.  YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

I have spent hours learning how to use my camera and lenses, learning about lighting and composition, and reading as much as I could about how to be a great photographer.  The skill I found that you absolutely must have, and this is critical, is a passion for humans which I have discovered I have in abundance.  I adore seeing people come together and commit their lives to each other.  I love to watch them prepare to welcome a child.  I love to document the birth of their family and capture the tiny details often missed between cluster feedings and sleepless nights with a newborn.  Oh man!  I really just love the human condition and all the complex people that make it so interesting.

The wrinkly newborn. The toothless 6 month old grins. The toddling toddlers. The energetic two year olds with a twinkle of mischief in their eyes. The preschooler with the beautiful smile. The school-age smiles when they slowly morph from baby to young adult.  The preteens. The teenager that is so hard to pin down for a photo that isn’t a selfie. Their graduation. Their engagement. Their wedding. Their newborn. (I’m not crying... you’re crying)

These moments pass in a blink of an eye. Photography allows us to capture these moments forever.

I believe that quality photography shouldn’t only be a luxury afforded to the wealthy or once-in-a-lifetime thing. I work hard to keep my costs down so that I can provide immense value and affordability. I source backdrops and props from thrift stores, fabric stores and freebies from friends. I will never have huge elaborate sets that turn your daughter into a mermaid expertly photo-shopped into the sea but I will catch her laughing at her brother so you can look at that photo in 20 years and remember the sound of her laughter.

I adore the fancy meticulously edited photos where every detail is just right but that just isn’t my style. I capture life, joy and the beautiful things that make us unique (except pimples, those just have to go).

I look forward to capturing your memories!
