Denver Housewives Summer Solstice Event

Every month, Denver Housewives hosts a networking event for women. The location and vendors vary, but the energy, community, and fun never change - this event was no exception!

The sky was somber and dark during my drive from Littleton to the Red Barn at the Garner Ranch in Franktown. As I approached, the sky cleared and provided the most perfect landscape for this event. Upon arrival, I checked in and then enjoyed some appetizers before heading out to the mobile bar for my refreshing mocktail while visiting with old and new friends.

The evening culminated with golden hour photos of the beautiful ladies to take full advantage of the gorgeous surroundings! I had missed being behind my camera andI just adore photographing women so this was a bucket-filler!

Happy Birthday, Emery!

My very favorite stories are those of happenstance creating extraordinary things. One such story is the one of sweet Emery Lane.

Shelby and Wyatt had moved from Colorado to Louisiana and soon discovered they were expecting. Traveling home for Christmas gave them a great chance to have a photo session to announce it. Shelby found me, by happenstance, through Facebook 1,500 miles away. We chatted online to plan their session and then the time came for them to travel to Denver. I instantly connected with both Shelby and Wyatt and the photos from their session reflected that. Thankfully, they missed home and moved back shortly after.

This move home allowed me the honor of documenting every step of their journey to parenthood from the announcement all the way to today, Emery’s first birthday!

Personal Branding

Long considered the most critical piece of your personal brand, the headshot is now only a piece of the puzzle. Gone are the days of the generic headshot on a solid backdrop taken from the chest up. Now, with the rise of social media as the means to advertise and market our businesses and a way for potential employers to evaluate you, it is important to have a cohesive and unique personal brand.

According to Wikipedia, “personal branding is the practice of people marketing themselves and their careers as brands”.

For your headshots, using natural poses helps to show your personality and share who you are with potential clients or employers. During a personal branding photography session, I work to gather many images of you in your element: working, chatting, laughing.

Photos can (and should) be fun!

April 14th  |  The Stone House in Lakewood, CO | 9-11am & 4pm-7pm

Sessions will be 20 minutes and we will do as many locations and poses as time allows.  From this, you will get five edited digital images with a full print release for $150. Prints and products 50% OFF.

2018 Holiday/Christmas Mini-Sessions | Denver Area Family Photographer

When Fall begins to turn the leaves and the days get that lovely chill, it's time to start thinking about... Christmas!!!  Twinkle lights, wrapping with bows, hot cocoa, caroling, decorating the Christmas trees, visits from family and spending quality time with those we love.  Years from now we will look back on these holidays with such fondness and nostalgia.  Freeze these moments in time and cherish them forever!

These minis will be at the MCPC Studio in Evergreen on the following dates:

• 11/16
• 11/17
• 11/18
• 12/1
• 12/2

There will be three different backdrops/setups available.

OUTSIDE: I am thinking of gold and cream - a couch in the middle of a clearing by the river.

INSIDE: A big bed likely just like last year since it was so cute! Also, there will be a twinkle light indoor setup.

Choose from two indoor backdrops, an outdoor set up or, if time permits, choose all three!!

2018 Fall Mini-Sessions | Denver Area Family Photographer

Last week while I was shooting a family session in Parker, I saw the first golden leaf high up in a cottonwood tree which got me so excited for all things Fall! Hoodies, leggings, lattes, crisp chilly mornings, clean and untouched school supplies, and of course... FALL MINI-SESSIONS!

This year I am setting up these sessions a little differently to allow more location options (from downtown to Parker to to foothills to the mountains) and time-slots.

Macaroni Kid Lakewood-Littleton Summer Camp and Activities Fair

As a parent, we need all the help we can get when it comes to planning out summertime!  I was invited to partner with Macaroni Kid Lakewood-Littleton, a local parent-focused directory and provide photography for the event.

2018 Model Call

I am in the need to try out new props, backdrops for upcoming mini-sessions and new lenses before the busy season starts! My kids are less than enthusiastic for helping mom after 8 years! 😜

I am looking for the following  ⤵️⤵️⤵️
▪️Babies - newborn to 6 months
▪️Kids - ages 4-10 (siblings or BFFs would be great!)
▪️High School Junior - for 2019 Senior Pictures
▪️Adult woman - Boudoir
▪️Mommy & Me - Mom with kid(s)
▪️Daddy & Me - Dad with kid(s)
▪️Bendy/flexy/yogi/acro Lady - poses, stands and beauty by the river in the mountains.
▪️Dancers of all ages - I am looking for good technique - strong jumps and turns, pointed toes, etc. Breakdancing, hip-hop, tap, ballet, pointe, contemporary... all kinds!

Sessions will vary from 30 minutes to 2 hours and you will be compensated for your time with three edited images with full print release. All images taken will be for promotional purposes and can/will be used on social media and/or my website.
